Located in the Heart of Dubai’s new business district, the G+19 tower houses a specialist medical clinic at its podium catering to the elderly population within the region. The tower consists of luxury-serviced apartments with specialist care facilities.

To maximize the GFA while working within strict plot parameters the tower seemed to be too heavy. The large tower mass was broken down by composing multiple volumes using varied languages; The horizontally clad base was used fin shaped brown terracotta louvers which allows views out of the medical facility while ventilating the car par below. The vertical tower masses were designed with two shifting volumes, one with a Glass curtain wall system along the northern elevation overlooking the Dubai Canal and a more solid GRC clad mass with deep set openings towards the East-South Elevations. The second volume using minimal glass curtain wall system with an offset outer structure clad in terracotta louver varying in density to allow for views beyond while reducing heat gain on the overall mass. This mass also meets the ground creating an entrance pocket behind it.
