Driven by its locus, “Khatt” came into realization to answer a regional need using local design, knowledge, and handcraft. Its minimalist dematerialized design approach allows Khatt to adopt to its surrounding seamlessly. With a focus on authentic materials, Khatt generates an exceptional interaction between walnut, leather and brushed stainless steel.

While designing and manufacturing Khatt, a lot of attention was given to making use of locally sourced materials and labour. Dubai has a rich tradition of dhow and boat builders. LOCI translated this time-honored handcraft into one of modernity. Funneling their passion driven skills into a product far away from their hulls and masts, Khatt came into realization.
