Located on the virgin beaches of East Africa, along the seaweed fields and its pickers, Stilts applies repetitive elements derived from the canes and strings used in seaweed farming.

A strong relationship between indoor and outdoor living was maintained in balance, giving its enclosed spaces a sense of translucency. Zanzibar’s rich local crafts and colonial influences resonated throughout the concept, further cementing the villa’s connection to its locus.
